Chess Rules
Chess, a two-player board game, has two different colors, white and black. The white piece moves first, followed by the black. Each side has the same exact 16 pieces and the goal is to checkmate the opponents king, meaning to completely capture it.

How to Move?

Pawn can only move one square at a time, except during the first move. During the pawn's first move, the player has a choice to either move the pawn two squares forward or one square forward. Pawns cannot move backwards nor can it move forward if there is a piece in front of it. To capture a piece, the pawn can only move diagonally forward. If the pawn reaches the end of the board, it can be promoted to any pieces except for the king.

Knight can only move in an "L" shape. If there is another piece blocking its way, it has the ability to jump over that piece.

Bishop moves diagonally through any unoccupied squares.

Rook moves horizontally and vertically through any unoccupied squares.

Queen is the strongest piece in chess. It moves horizontally, vertically, and diagonally through any unoccupied squares.

King is most important piece of the game. The players try their best to protect their own king and capture the opponent's king. King can only move to squares around it.
